Introducing Coach Alberta (CAB)
Coach Alberta is a new and developing organization committed to providing coaches in Alberta the opportunity to connect in three key areas: education, networking and advocacy.
Coach Alberta will create networking, education and cross sport connections specific to the needs of Alberta coaches and will engage coaches at all levels of the sport for life continuum. Leadership and support for this initiative has included Coaches of Canada, experts in Alberta Sport Recreation Parks and Wildlife Foundation as well as coach leaders in the Alberta community.
The initiation of Coach Alberta began at a Coaches of Canada board meeting in June 2008. Our discussion centered on how to engage ALL levels of coaches in the country; connecting our community coaches with links to Provincial and National Team coaches.
The vision of Coach Alberta is to create a fraternity of coaches in Alberta that connects coaches in ALL sports from community participation to Olympic and Paralympic level. Together, the voice and leadership of coaches will drive sport in Alberta.
