The Professional Coaching Department of the Coaching Association of Canada, formerly Coaches of Canada, grants official designation to professionals in the field of coaching in Canada. Offering the designation of Chartered Professional Coach (ChPC), the department provides multiple services to coaches, and promotes the profession of coaching and the important role of coaches in the success and effectiveness of sport programs. The department also regulates coaching and protects the public interest by ensuring its coaches abide by the highest standard of professional and ethical conduct.

How we do it:
- Connect our Licensed and Registered Coaches, and the coach community, to foster peer-to-peer learning and leadership opportunities;
- Promote the profession of coaching and the value of a coach, by providing a collective voice for the needs of coaches and for the valuable role coaches play; to the media, government, within the sport system and to the public;
- Regulate the profession of coaching and protect the public interest by ensuring our coaches obey a high standard and code of ethical conduct; and
- Serve our Licensed and Registered Coaches with access to services and benefits that aid their daily professional lives.
