Call for freelance writers

Ottawa, Ontario – January 24, 2007 Coaches of Canada (CofC) is a non-profit national multi-sport organization, in search of freelance writers to research and prepare contributed feature articles for its publication, Coaches PLAN du Coach (see www.coachesofcanada.com/PLAN).

Based in Ottawa, the organization is looking for writers able to conduct interviews in both English and French and to provide submitted articles written in English.

Feature story subject matter varies with each issue. Most articles will deal with subject matter of the Canadian sport system, with some aspect of the perspective of a coach or impact on a coach/coaching. The work would typically involve conducting interviews with several experts and then forming the article to be a collection and synthesis of the information gathered, with pertinent quotes interspersed throughout the stories/reports where applicable (as opposed to be written/transcribed like a question & answer interview). CofC would be responsible to confirm individuals as candidate for interviews, and would work the writer in advance on the series/direction the questions should go in.

If you are interested in future possible with Coaches of Canada’s publication Coaches PLAN du Coach, please submit your resume and samples of previous sports-related written work. Please contact Coaches of Canada at info@coachesofcanada.com or 613.569.6600 with your expressed interest.  Visit our website for more information on the organization – www.coachesofcanada.com.
