The Coaches of Canada Sheila Robertson Award recognizes
a deserving National Sport Organization (NSO) or
Multi-Sport Service Organization (MSO) that demonstrates
a consistent approach in valuing and recognizing
the role of the coach within the organization, the
media and the public. The focus of the award is
Coaches. The award is presented annually at the
Petro-Canada Sport Leadership sportif Awards Dinner.

Nomination Deadline:
Friday September 24th, 2010 @ 4pm EDT
Sheila Robertson Award
The winning NSO or MSO will be notified in advance
and the award will be presented during the Sport
Leadership Award Dinner.
The nomination should include how the NSO/MSO
values the coach by:
- Consistent presence on website and in publications
- News releases announcing coach appointments
- Ensuring that when an athlete wins, the coach
is recognized in media coverage, and not only
current coaches but developmental coaches as
well
- Detailed coaches’ profiles on website
- Offers annual coaching awards
- Demonstrating in hiring practices and employment
practices that the NSO/MSO values its coaches
- Naming of coaches to Board of Directors and
relevant committees
- Making coaches part of the senior management
team that provides and drives the NSO/MSO vision
The 2010 Selection Committee consists of: Sheila
Robertson, Chair; Steven Sugar, President of Coaches
of Canada; Gail Donohue, Vice President, Director
at Large; and Denise Vourtzoumis, Director at
Large, Non-coaching function; Marc Bowles; and
Heather Fraser.
