Coaches of Canada Welcomes Rebecca Norton to Our Team!

Wayne Parro, Executive Director of Coaches of Canada would like to take this opportunity to welcome Rebecca Norton to our team as our Communications and Events Coordinator. In 2007, Rebecca graduated from Durham College’s Sport Management program, where she excelled in her studies.

Rebecca has volunteered with Special Olympics Ontario for many years and is a certified Level One Tenpin Bowling coach. She has coached athletes at the Provincial and National level. In 2006, she took four athletes to the National Summer Games where they brought home 15 out of a possible 16 medals.

Organizing large events is also something at which Rebecca excels. She was the Tenpin Bowling Venue Manager at Special Olympics Ontario’s 2008 Provincial Spring Games in Durham Region. She runs five Special Olympics tenpin bowling tournaments a year with between 120-240 athletes in attendance throughout the Golden Horseshoe.

Outside of Special Olympics Rebecca played a significant role in organizing the 1967 Leafs Tribute Dinner in March of 2007. This was a gala dinner honouring the 1967 Stanley Cup Champion Toronto Maple Leafs and to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Canada®.

Coaches of Canada knows that Rebecca has tremendous enthusiasm for coaching and a passion and dedication for everything she does that is going to make her a valuable asset to our organization. We look forward to all the wonderful things she is going to do with our organization!
